Dr. Óscar Armando Monroy Hermosillo, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM)
Óscar is a distinguished Professor from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) at the Biotechnology Department. He is Chairman of the Amecameca and La Compañía Rivers Watershed Commission (CCRAyC), as well as National Researcher 3° Level, Honorable Member of the Mexican Society of Biotechnology & Bioengineering, Member of the Mexican Academy of Science (1998) and Chairman of the Environmental Eng. Commission of the Engineering Academy. Óscar is also member of the working group in Anaerobic Digestion of the International Water Association (IWA). Most of his professional life span has been dedicated to promote anaerobic digestion as a pivotal step of wastewater (WW) treatment through decentralized and segregated WW treatment processes to recover nutrients and energy to close sustainable cycles.
