Water Innovation in Action
Day 2 - Oct 23

This year’s Water Innovation in Action theme is partnerships. How are industry, governments, academic institutions, and other (sometimes unlikely) partners coming together to discover value, leverage assets, and create new opportunities while solving water challenges in Ontario and the world? We’ll explore innovative partnerships, as well as offer fun and immersive networking opportunities.
This year, Water Innovation in Action also pleased to welcome a technical workshop from The Everglades Foundation’s George Barley Water Prize. Launched in 2016 in the hopes of inspiring innovation around the world, the Prize offered $10 million to the person or team who could create a cost-effective, scalable technology to extract phosphorus from freshwater bodies. Stage 3 of the Barley Prize brought nine teams from four different countries to the Holland Marsh in Ontario for a 90-day field test. In this workshop, participants will meet the Barley Prize teams as they present their findings and results, and introduce the latest innovative phosphorus removal technology. Pre-registration for this workshop is required.
