Tour: Introducing Ontario’s Water Tech Sector

This tour is your introduction to Ontario’s thriving water technology sector. The day features visits to a live project site and an impressive treatment facility. As well, it will introduce you to six water technology companies: Anaergia Inc., Aslan Technologies Inc., Echologics, Econse WaterForward Water Technologies, and TECTA-PDS. Hosted by WaterTAP and the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade.

Date: October 22, 2018
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: Please meet at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre, 250 Yonge Street, 35th Floor, Toronto.

Start the day at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre, where you’ll have the chance to get an overview of Ontario’s water sector and meet local innovative water technology companies. After the morning session, we will board a bus to visit a nearby project site, then travel to the Lakeview Water Treatment Plant for lunch and a showcase of Ontario water companies.

Following lunch, we’ll tour the award-winning water treatment facility. The Lakeview Plant has a capacity of 800-million litres per day and an impressive and innovative treatment system that includes ozonation, biologically active carbon contactors, ultraviolet disinfection, and reverse osmosis membranes. The plant also frequently hosts pilot projects for new innovative solutions.

Hard hats and safety vests will be provided. However, the plant requests that visitors wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes. Participants must sign a waiver before the tour.

After Lakeview, we’ll visit FER-PAL site in Etobicoke to learn more about its watermain rehabilitation solutions.

At the close of the tour, the bus will return participants to the Bond Place Hotel (65 Dundas Street East, Toronto).

Lunch is provided as part of the tour. Schedule is subject to change.
