Join WaterTAP for Two OnWIN Tours Showcasing Water Tech Companies

Arriving at OnWIN early? Join one of two tours showcasing Ontario’s water tech sector. Eligible visiting delegates are invited to discover first-hand why Ontario is considered a leading hub for advanced water facilities and technologies.

Introducing Ontario’s Water Tech Sector (October 22, 2018 – 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM)

The tour will introduce attendees to Ontario’s thriving water technology sector. We’ll start with an overview of Ontario’s water sector, including a meeting with local innovative water technology companies. After the morning session, we’ll board a bus to visit a nearby trenchless technology project site, then travel to the Lakeview Water Treatment Plant for lunch and another showcase of Ontario water companies.

Following lunch, we’ll tour the award-winning water treatment facility. The Lakeview Plant has a capacity of 800-million litres per day and an impressive and innovative treatment system that includes ozonation, biologically active carbon contactors, ultraviolet disinfection, and reverse osmosis membranes. The plant also frequently hosts pilot projects for new innovative solutions.

Through this tour, participants can expect to learn about and gain exposure to the full business cycle that water businesses experience, from academic research and development, to early stage pilots and established operations. Starting from downtown Toronto in the morning, we will take a bus to Kitchener-Waterloo to meet growing companies Alert Labs and H2nanO, as well as researchers from the University of Waterloo. From there, we’ll make a stop in the beautiful village of Elora to see Lystek International’s resource recovery upgrade site.
